April & Dwight | Hybrid Film Wedding at The Oaks at Salem

April and Dwight’s wedding at The Oaks at Salem was the picture of elegance from top to bottom. From his classic black tux to her stunning lace trumpet gown, they were the perfect compliment to each other. To top it off, their sweet fur baby Humphrey was also in his fine attire, top hat and all (I was in heaven!). We arrived to find the estate filled with laughter from April and all her bridesmaids who were getting ready in the estate’s beautiful bridal suite. After taking time to gush over all April’s gorgeous bridal details, style and photograph them, it was time to pop the bubbly, April promptly caught the cork right in her hand! One of the sweetest parts of the day was when April and Dwight shared a moment right before the ceremony, even though a wall separated them, they seemed as close as ever. Another favorite part of the day was when Humphrey came walking down the aisle! He was SO adorably cute, it was difficult trying to suppress the urge to scoop him up and give him kisses!

There were several charming aspects of April and Dwight’s wedding, one of which included the stamps used for the wedding invitations. They were ordered directly from USPS and are considered the “Gifts of Friendship (Japan Joint Issue)”.  Since April’s grandmother was from Japan, and April is 1/4 Japanese, they thought it was a fun way to incorporate her heritage into the wedding. The ring that April was given on her wedding day was her Grandmother’s.  She immigrated from Japan in the 1950’s, and on one of her return trips back from Japan, she brought 2 pearl rings that April’s father inherited when she passed away – one of which was given to April’s sister on her wedding day, and the other to April on her wedding day. The pin on April’s bouquet is a family heirloom from Dwight’s family.  It was worn on their wedding days by both Dwight’s mother and his grandmother. The china used at the reception for Dwight and April were family heirlooms from each side of their family.

Congratulations April and Dwight (oh, and Humphrey too)! Please enjoy a few of my favorites from their day.
