Rebekah and Thomas were married at the Historic Merrimon Wynne house in Raleigh. Their wedding was the epitome of classic elegance and southern charm. I first met Bekah at a bakery in downtown Raleigh along with her sister and brother. Can I just say how much I love this family!? Bekah is one of the most kind and giving people I have ever met, and Thomas the perfect gentleman, father and now husband! Although it rained the entire day of their wedding, it could not have been more beautiful. The Merrimon Wynne has such a gorgeous atmosphere with it’s beautiful white walls, stunning architecture and diverse vintage decor. No matter what the weather was like outside, the venue more than made up for it.
When I arrived at the Merrimon Wynne on the day of the wedding, Bekah and her circle of intimate family and friends were having fun chatting with each other, eating scrumptious snacks and drinking Bellini’s while getting ready. One of the most memorable parts of the day was when Bekah and Thomas exchanged letters. Oh the tears! Not only was Bekah crying, but her sister along with everyone else in the room was crying too, including me! Bekah and Thomas also decided to do a First Look before the ceremony so that they could relax and enjoy time spent with each other and friends without rushing after the ceremony. Whenever I look back at a couple’s First Look, I always get goosebumps because I remember how emotional that moment was. For Bekah and Thomas, those moments that they shared when they first saw each other were filled with love, tenderness, tears and SO much emotion! We did their First Look on the front porch of the Merrimon Wynne because we wanted to take advantage of the natural light but also not get wet! Although it was a small space, we were able to capture the beautiful memories they shared that day.
After their family and friends prayed with them, I witnessed one of the most heartwarming ceremonies. Bekah and Thomas only had eyes for each other while they said their vows. Their ceremony included a moving song that was sung by Bekah’s brother. Afterward, all three of them, Bekah, Thomas and his daughter, walked down the aisle together! The reception was just as emotional and beautiful as other parts of the day. Bekah and Thomas’ first dance included lots of smiling and laughter. The toasts during dinner were so heartfelt, I will never forget how much of a sisterly bond Bekah and Rachel share!
It was such an honor photographing Rebekah and Thomas’ wedding day. I’ll never forget the love, faith, kindness and beauty that this family shares. Please join me in congratulating Rebekah and Thomas on their marriage!!
