Meet the Team!

Hi everyone! Since it has been a while since I’ve introduced the team, I thought it would be a great time to get to know us a little better! I cannot believe how time has flown by since starting my business, and now I am blessed to work along some amazing people. I’ll also be introducing another new team member soon, so keep an eye out for another blog post! Besides being incredibly talented at what they do, I am so grateful for the kind, loving and fun personalities of Chloe and Cici. Get to know Chloe and Cici (a little bit more about Cici because this is the first time she has been introduced!), the work we do, and the things we love below!

Hi! My name is Chloe, and I am an Associate Wedding Photographer at Bronwyn Duffield Photography!

A little about me: I am a Tarheel and a farm girl, born and raised in the beautiful Piedmont of North Carolina. I love sweet tea and ice cream, makeup and summer dresses, cuddling with our lambs in the springtime, and most of all photography! If I’m not traveling and going on new adventures, I love hanging out in Carrboro and Chapel Hill, whether it’s finding a quiet spot to sit on UNC’s beautiful campus, or checking out the live music scene in the evenings.

I have been interested in photography ever since I was a little girl. My first camera was a film point-and-shoot that I got when I was around ten years old. The very first thing I did with it was climb a tree and shoot pictures while I sat in the branches! When I was fourteen I got my first DSLR and talked all of my friends into posing for me so I could practice taking pictures. Photography has been my passion ever since, and my love for creativity (and for climbing trees!) has only grown!

Wedding photography combines so many of the things I love: the combination of technical skill and creativity, beautiful dresses, lovely decorations, and happy people who are completely in love! I love the challenge of finding the best light for that special moment when the mother of the bride helps her daughter into her gown, or snapping photos of the groom and groomsmen as they make silly poses during a wedding party portrait session. Every wedding has traditional aspects, but it’s those special moments between friends and loved ones that make each wedding unique and keep me inspired to capture them in the best way I can!

I can’t wait to get to know you!

Today, I’m so excited to introduce you to Cici, our 2016 intern. Yes, you read correctly, I said “2016”! Cici started as an intern in the summer of 2016, and I am just now getting to introduce her. Cici no longer works as an intern for BDP, but rather as a third photographer at all our weddings. Cici is an amazing photographer, and I can’t wait to see where she goes with her photography career. In the meantime, I obsess over her soft, romantic, closeup shots of all those things that you sometimes miss in the rush… like the bride and groom’s hands intertwined during couples photos, or a tear being shed from a bridesmaid during the ceremony. I am so excited for you to get to know her today!

Where are you from?
I was born in Durham, North Carolina, but I have lived most of my life in Chapel Hill.

Why do you love photography?
Ever since I was young, I dreamed of having an artistic side. I wanted to be able to draw or paint in order to express myself. However, half way through middle school I discovered I have absolutely no talent in drawing or painting, and frankly found it quite frustrating. Just when I was about to give up on the arts altogether, I discovered photography. To me, photography is painting with light, and it gave me inspiration to pursue the arts without having to sketch things with my hands. I also love science and math, so photography is appealing because it incorporates elements of both art and technology.

What are you passionate about?
I am passionate about many things. I am very fond of animals, especially my pets (I have four cats, two dogs, and lots of fish) and horses. I have been riding horses for as long as I can remember. Currently I am leasing an ex race horse named Belle who is the center of my life.

What is your favorite food?
My favorite food is my mother’s homemade spaghetti. This dish is the definition of comfort food and it always makes me feel happy.

Who is your favorite music artist?
Music has always been a big part of my life. I enjoy nothing more than discovering new albums that interest me and finding a way to apply their message to my life. So naturally, I cannot just pick one artist as my favorite but rather, many. I love Twenty One Pilots, Electric Guest, Marina and the Diamonds, Tegan and Sara, Tame Impala, Haim, and the list goes on forever.

Your favorite hobbies?
My favorite hobbies include: horseback riding, swimming (I am on three swim teams currently), filming videos and, of course, photography!

What is your favorite treat? (dessert, etc)
My favorite treat is dark chocolate.

What are you grateful for today?
I am grateful for my loving and supportive family and friends with whom I share my life.

What do you love about weddings?
My favorite thing about weddings is being able to meet new people. After spending the entire wedding day with the bride, groom, and their families, I often feel I have a close connection with them.

What’s something that no one knows about you?
One thing many people don’t know about me is I aspire to become some kind of neurologist. I find the brain mysterious and fascinating and I dream of studying it for my career.
